Select English have been running a successful summer school programme for almost twenty years offering residential and non-residential courses for children, teenagers, and adults. Select English is searching for Activity Coordinators to assist the Social Organiser team in the planning, preparation and leading of activities and excursions.

About the role:

- In this position, you will be responsible for delivery of the social programme at Select English. This role is focused on delivering and leading an enjoyable activity programme, ensuring student happiness, welfare and safety as well as ensuring Select’s high standards of customer service are upheld.
- Age of Students: 14-17.
- Pay: £500 (£500 + £60.35 holiday pay) per week.
- Dates: 19th June - 19th August.

Essential:

- Minimum age 19.
- Flexibility, ability to work as part of a team.
- Enthusiastic, organised, and able to use own initiative.
- The right to live and work in the UK.
- Willingness to lead and participate in the social programme.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.

Desirable:

- Sports coaching qualification.
- Previous summer school experience.
- Experience working with young people (sports coaching, youth groups etc.)

**Duties**:

- Plan, prepare and lead interesting and enjoyable excursions, social activities, and sports events to be held during afternoons, evenings and weekends.
- Support the Social Organiser(s) in delivering a successful activity programme.
- Promote the social programme to students.
- Monitoring activities stock levels and managing the course budget.
- Keep attendance records for all activities.
- Dealing with emergencies and problems as they arise.
- Ensuring welfare and discipline on activities and trips.
- Attend staff briefings.
- Maintain up-to-date risk assessments for all activities.
- Organise content for Social Media pages (Instagram & Facebook).
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful activities.

**Job Description**:
Summer School Juniors Activities Coordinator
- Working week is 6 days. The activities are mainly in the afternoon and evenings on weekdays and full days on the weekends.

Activities Coordinator Work Schedule: 40 hours per week

Afternoon: 14:00 - 17:00 (14:30 - 17:30 in week 2)

Evening: 19:00* - 22:00 (including walk homes)

*Note that a couple of evenings staff start at 18:30 to help set up parties/casino night but 2nd Wednesday is a free evening

Weekend: 1 day (either London Day-Trip or Airport) 10 hrs
- Some staff work Sunday afternoon activities but have a day off during the week (Sunday hours are typically 13:30 - 16:30)
