Polytec are looking for a Laboratory Co-ordinator for our client based in Cambridge.
Responsibilities:
* Operate and maintain specialist cryogenic equipment suggesting upgrades as necessary in response to changing requirements and advances in technology
* Maintenance and running of the cryostats and research laboratories
* Ensure a safe working environment, monitoring compliance
* Co-ordinate laboratory maintenance
* Provide health and safety training on cryogenic safety
Requirements:
* Knowledge of Cryogenics
* Practical experience of specialised laboratory activity and equipment (optical, electronic, computer-controlled, mechanical, high-pressure, cryogenic and vacuum)
* Experience in providing training both to groups and on a one-to-one basis
* Experience of implementing health and safety requirements
* Specialist knowledge of relevant regulations and practice and laboratory processes
* Good IT skills
* High degree of precision and accuracy
* Advanced knowledge of lab technician work involving a critical understanding of relevant theory and/or principles
* HND/HNC in a relevant field or equivalent level of practical experience
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
