**About the Service**

Anyone can be a victim of domestic abuse. Our domestic violence services protect women, men and children who are experiencing abuse at home.

We have a range of services to support our clients, whether they need help leaving an abusive home or rebuilding their life after domestic abuse.

We provide emergency short-term accommodation for women and men, with or without children, who are escaping abuse.

**In your new role, you will**:

- You will support families within our Domestic abuse accommodation services in Walsall.
- Provide person centred support to our clients to resettle them back into the Community; leading to fulfilled lives, improved life choices, a reduction in offending and safer communities.
- This support is specifically around Domestic Abuse, which may include Forced Marriage, Honour based violence and Female Genital Mutilation on an individual basis, using a person centred approach
- Support will enable families access accommodation services and to improve their understanding of domestic abuse, how to identify it and support to deal with the effects of it. It will also help them to maintain a tenancy and move towards independent living free from abuse.

**You will ideally have**:

- Experience of providing housing related support and/or working with victims of domestic abuse (or other specialist knowledge of domestic abuse services).
- Experience of being able to respond to difficult situations and handle emergencies without immediate supervision
- Experience working in a fast paced environment, whilst maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
- Experience of liaising with external agencies including multi-agency working.
- Able to deal with complex cases.
- Ability to produce monitoring information.
- An understanding of and commitment to Equality and Diversity
- Experience of and ability to use Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook to an intermediate standard
- Ability to deal with a demanding workload and to prioritise effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the need to follow policy and procedures
- 5 GCSEs at Grade C or vocabulary, verbal reasoning and numerical skills to the equivalent ability level
- NVQ level 3 in Social Care
- Access to your own car and drivers licence is essential
