Tempting Recruitment is delighted to present a compelling opportunity with our respected client - a prominent council. We are currently seeking a dedicated Neighbourhood and Tenancy Officer to join their dynamic team.

**The Position**:
The duties you will be performing as part of your role:

- Manage a designated portfolio of properties within defined neighbourhoods.
- Ensure neighbourhoods are clean, healthy, and safe, fostering a desirable living environment.
- Professionally manage tenancies and leases, adhering strictly to legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Support the development and implementation of projects that empower customers to live independently and reduce homelessness.
- Fulfill legal obligations outlined in housing acts and relevant legislation.
- Support leaders and managers in executing the vision, strategies, and initiatives for the Neighbourhood and Tenancy Team.
- Act as a key stakeholder, taking ownership of neighbourhoods and property portfolios.
- Coordinate the delivery of compliant, customer-centric services with a focus on equality and diversity.
- Develop action plans for neighbourhood improvement, incorporating health and safety, asset management, and anti-social behaviour reduction.
- Conduct regular inspections, involving residents and stakeholders, providing feedback to the Capital Team.
- Inspect and audit tenancies, leases, and properties annually, addressing breaches with clear remedial action plans.
- Promote optimal use of Council housing stock, supporting tenants in downsizing where possible.
- Promptly and effectively respond to reports of anti-social behaviour, planning and leading multi-agency responses when necessary.
- Maintain accurate case files, produce high-quality reports, and represent the Council in court as needed.
- Recognize and prioritize safeguarding risks, actively driving cases to successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to assist residents with multiple needs, sustaining their tenancies.
- Stay updated on housing legislation, including the Housing Acts, Localism, and anti-social behaviour regulations.
- Support investigations resulting from appeals, complaints, and legal challenges, cooperating on relevant documentation.
- Be accountable for team performance and manage risks effectively.
- Foster and maintain partnerships with internal and external teams, agencies, and partners.
- Ensure effective operation of relevant IT systems for service delivery.
- Think critically and challenge existing cultures and practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

- Possession of or willingness to work towards CIH Professional qualification Level 3 or equivalent.
- GCSEs or equivalent, including English, Maths, and/or a second language at Grade A-C.
- Membership of CIH (Chartered Institute of Housing).
- Minimum three years of demonstrable experience in a social housing service.
- Experience in neighbourhood management services, including health & safety and contract monitoring.
- Extensive experience in housing management casework.
- Experience in effectively engaging customers and stakeholders in service provision.
- Experience in service improvement through project work and participation in change and transformation projects.
- Extensive experience in monitoring contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Demonstrable experience in collaboration and partnership working, resulting in excellent outcomes and improved performance.
- Proven experience in managing a wide variety of enquiries and complaints to satisfactory outcomes.

**Contract Duration**:3 Months (Likely Extension)

**Hourly Rate**:£18 Per Hour (Umbrella)

**Commencement Date**:November/December 2023

**Work Hours: Hybrid 37 Hours **3 Days out on the Patch, 1 Day at home and 1 Day In the office.
