Our client is widely recognised as a specialist market leader in their FMCG sector. As an independent family run business, they have carved out a successful niche as a supplier of choice. Due to ongoing expansion, a superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Supervisor to play a key role in the current and future growth and success of the business.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to move up to an Assistant Factory Manager position within the next couple of years after spending time learning the role and business from the current Manager.

**KEY DUTIES SUMMARY**
- Help with the overall supervision of day to day production
- Monitoring of production to ensure that the production remains smooth
- Ensuring all necessary production paperwork is completed in a timely manner
- Provide “hands on” assistance in working with the wider production team to continuously ensure production targets are met and client orders are completed on time
- Ensure effective factory floor housekeeping and maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with legislative Health and Safety requirements.
- Supervision of production staff and foster effective teamwork and ensure a neutral and harmonious working environment.
- Assist the Factory Manager in maintaining a comprehensive food safety and quality manual.
- Work closely with purchasing and delivery and learn how this part of the business works in order to help out in the future if required.

**THE PERSON**
- A minimum of 2-3 years previous experience as a Production Supervisor or Assistant Factory within a Food Manufacturing or Processing business
- Takes a pride in maintaining hygiene standards and cleaning routines to ensure that all legal requirements are met
- Possess and be able to demonstrate strong people and organisational skills

The ability to support and motivate a team is essential
- Experience of working to BRC Standard and a good understanding of the technical and quality aspects of food processing would be desirable
- This is very much a “hands on “ position which requires someone to “lead from the front,” be adaptable to changing work requirements, able to work under pressure in a face paced environment and be customer focused
- Able to work later hours when required during busy periods

**SALARY**

In addition, there will be the opportunity to progress within the company and to assume the role of Assistant Factory Manager within the next 2-3 years.
