**What We’re Look For**
We have an exciting, full-time, permanent opportunity for an eTrade Portfolio Underwriter to profitably grow the eTrade portfolio for all Regional brokers via the HUB and software houses. You will manage the performance of Underwriters and improve the trading and underwriting skills of the National eTrade Centre to improve NIG’s product footprint, risk selection and customer journey.
You will be based in either Manchester or Peterborough with one to two days per week working in the office.
**What you will do**
- Provide underwriting leadership, with focus on underperforming products, broker accounts and large cases.
- Manage own team of direct reports and improving the individual performance of all staff and rigorously manage underperformance and Talent.
- Support the training and development of underwriting skills and knowledge within eTrade operations & ensure decisions are being made following current NIG strategy.
- Deliver improvements to our product customer journey by reducing the number of referrals
- Work with the wider eTrade leadership team along with other NIG stakeholders to ensure Priorities are achieved.
- Ensure that all risks are assessed, documented and escalated following the correct business process.
- Manage the risks involved in running our business following our risk framework.
- Contribute to wider business activities. Drive and influence the national agenda for eTraded business
- Understand the revenue and profit performance of the eTraded products.
- Delivery of the GWP and CCR plan for eTrade.
- Effectively liaison with Regions and the Strategic Partner Team to support delivery of the plan
- Manage underperforming areas of the account.
**What skills and qualities you need to bring**
- High level of Experience & Knowledge within Commercial Underwriting.

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
