Campervan Upholsterer Seamstress

Lomond Campers is a small campervan manufacturer building high quality camper vans from our workshop in Glenrothes, Fife.

We are currently looking for a self-motivated, experienced seamstress/ upholsterer to join our current upholsterer. You must have the skill set to re-upholster campervan interiors.

We are looking for an applicant with relevant experience to be working alone to a very high standard.

This position could be suitable for a self-employed upholsterer looking for some reliable work and hours, or someone looking for flexible or part-time hours.

We have a fully equipped upholstery workshop with Juki sewing machines and a Brother single needle embroidery machine.

The essential skills for this post must include:

- Competent using industrial sewing machines
- Experience and ability to strip, cut, template and reupholster vehicle seats from start to finish
- Experience and ability to make templates for and cover cushions of plywood backing and foam
- Experience in Automotive upholstering
- Experience in upholstering to a high standard with quality vinyls
- Experience and ability to create design stitch panels with scrim foam (IE diamond stitch)
- A very good eye for detail
- Takes pride in all work undertaken
- Ability and confidence to work alone
- Positive attitude
- Reliable with good time-keeping

**Job Description**:
You will be working from a customer's order form and stripping, templating and reupholstering original camper van front seats and upholstering rear ‘rock n roll’ bed cushions (plywood base and foam) to their chosen specification. These are often realeat type seats so most are already templated.

You will be keeping track of stock levels of foams, adhesives, threads, vinyls etc and passing stock orders to be fulfilled.

Maintaining a clean work environment and maintaining your equipment.

Hourly rate dependant on experience and with regular review.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
