(Possible Trainee) Automotive Campervan Upholsterer

**Lomond Campers is a small campervan manufacturer building high quality camper vans from our workshop in Glenrothes, Fife.**

We are looking for an applicant who either has relevant experience (IE sewing machinist) to learn the role, or who already has relevant experience to be working alone to a very high standard.

We are happy to look at full or part time employment.

Within our premises we have a highly experienced upholsterer and a dedicated upholstery workshop with all equipment and materials required.

**For a trainee position we require an applicant who is at least competent with a sewing machine and you will receive on-the-job training for the rest of the role.**
- Experience and ability to strip, cut, template and reupholster vehicle seats from start to finish to a **very high standard**
- Experience and ability to make templates for and cover cushions of plywood backing and foam
- Experience in Automotive upholstering
- Experience in upholstering to a high standard with quality vinyls
- Experience and ability to create design stitch panels with scrim foam (IE diamond stitch)
- A very fine eye for detail
- Takes pride in all work undertaken
- Ability and confidence to work alone
- Positive attitude
- Reliable with good time-keeping

**Desirable criteria**:

- Foam templating and cutting
- Emroidery capability
- Carpet/ suede lining experience

You will be working from a customer's order form and stripping, templating and reupholstering original camper van front seats and upholstering rear ‘rock n roll’ bed cushions (plywood base and foam) to their chosen specification. These are often the same style seats so once templated it will often be a repeat style in varying colours/ stitch designs.

You may also be required to trim plywood or van panels in lining carpet.

You will be keeping track of stock levels of foams, adhesives, threads, vinyls etc and passing orders to the office for fulfilment.

Maintaining a clean work environment and maintaining your equipment.

**Hourly rate depending on experience and with regular review.**
