Student Support and Wellbeing comprise of a team of expert disability advisers, mental health coordinators, mentors and study skills tutors.

Student and Registry Services are responsible for providing services to all students throughout their time at UCL and for supporting academic departments and administrative staff in delivering a high quality student experience. We also play a key role in co-ordinating UCL's governance processes and academic quality assurance operations. UCL Student Support and Wellbeing Services (SSW) provides information, advice and welfare support for all registered students, including delivery of related student events.

**About the role**:
As a Disability Adviser, you're work will be co-ordinated through Student Support and Wellbeing and embedded in UCL East. You will be a key point of contact for students studying and living at UCL East (who will be the primary focus) and will also support students on the Bloomsbury campus, working alongside colleagues across UCL to strengthen the local support provision and facilitate effective connection with students.

You will complement the work of student advisers, personal tutors, academics, teaching and learning staff, and peer support programmes which are available locally. You'll provide information, advice and support to people with disabilities and prospective students and those who may be affected by wellbeing and/or mental health conditions which includes:

- face to face (drop-in sessions and appointments)
- telephone

You will identify reasonable adjustments for individual students, liaising with academic and other staff to ensure their needs are disseminated in a confidential manner, as well as promoting the service and leading on wellbeing initiatives throughout the UCL community.

- Please note this role will be based out of both our UCL East (Stratford) & Bloomsbury (Euston) campuses. You will be required to work on campus and be flexible to work from both sites as and when required._

**About you**:
As a HR, Well-Being or Disability professional, you have experience supporting staff and/or students with disabilities, finalising reasonable adjustments (ideally within the higher education setting) and completing the administrative processes necessary to support individuals. You're knowledgeable in issues relating to student welfare and community support services and have an understanding of the UK higher education sector, UK disability legislation, Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) and confidentiality and data protection issues.

You have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), together with excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people. Additionally, you're effective in prioritising tasks whist managing a demanding workload and are able to remain calm under pressure, for example when dealing with challenging and stressful situations.
