Support Worker
A great opportunity for a support worker has arisen in LS8, with a flexible shift pattern. If you have 6 months experience working in a care environment, then this role could be ideal for you
Location: Roundhay, LS8
Hours: Weekdays Monday - Friday

**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
Reed Community Care are looking for people who are highly personable and empathetic to provide care for a 12 year old boy, who has been diagnosed with learning disability, autism and ADHD. You would be making a large difference in his life, providing him withroutine and emotional support. Our customer is supported 2:1 in the community and in his home. It is of a high importance that potential workers are willing to commit as our customer needs time to build up a positive relationship with new staff.

You will provide structure and safety for our client and is used to working in the following ways:

- Be consistent
- Stick to a schedule
- Discuss his hobbies and passions with him (football)
- Explore local activities
- Help improve independence and social skills
- Make time fun
- Keep him safe

What we are looking for:

- Someone with 6 months experience working in a Support Worker role preferably with customers with autism.
- A motivated, hardworking, and compassionate person.
- A desire to make a real difference.
Your main duties would be:

- Supporting with activities in the community, as well as offering mental and emotional support.
- Maintain a safe environment through the utilisation of support plans and person-centred risk assessments.
- Respect the confidential nature of the work.
- Value his wellbeing and safeguard from abuse, ensure that any safeguarding concerns are reported.
- Follow the individual care plan that has been devised alongside the appropriate professionals.
