**Salary: Main Grade Lecturer 7-12, £31,337-£41,345 per annum inclusive of Outer London Weighting**

**Contract: Full-time permanent, 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year**

**Primary Location**:This post will be based at Wood Street Campus although the post-holder may be required to work from all campuses

We are looking for an outstanding and enthusiastic A-level Business teacher to join our successful department, ideally this will be to start in September 2023.

All applicants must have a relevant degree and full teaching qualification. Recent experience of teaching business is essential. NQTs are welcome to apply.

**JOB DESCRIPTION - CORE RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. To teach students across a range of abilities and ages in a way that suits individual students and is motivating, supportive and inspiring.

2. To carry out the role of Subject Leader for A-level Business.

3. To contribute enthusiastically to the development of the curriculum both individually and as part of a team in line with college, awarding, inspecting & funding body and requirements.

4. To prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments and assessments as required and to assess students work in line with the departments and awarding body requirements.

5. To provide students’ with opportunities to gain academic skills and to liaise with appropriate college managers

6. To use new learning technologies in undertaking teaching and other duties

8. To contribute to the development of resource materials.

9. To be a personal tutor for one or more groups of students as required.

10. To act as course leader as required.

11. To keep records, monitor and track students’ progress and to keep management information and statistical data to fulfil the requirements of the College’s QA and information systems and for audit purposes

12. To contribute to the preparation for internal audits and verification, external verification and inspections

13. To undertake administrative duties as required by the section.

14. To undertake risk assessments for teaching, student performances, events and trips and visits as required

15. To cover for absent colleagues in line with contractual agreements.

16. To be a member of course teams, to attend course team meetings and make an active contribution to course team meetings.

17. To work with student and learning support services within the College to ensure students have access to all available support.

18. To contribute to interviewing, recruitment, advice and guidance for students and to assist at advice and guidance sessions during evenings and Saturdays as required by the contract of employment.

19. To develop effective links with employers, local community and schools.

20. To support the timetabling of the music provision.

21. To support the departments management team with commercial activities, marketing and resource planning.

22. To support the department aims in the planning and promotion of the new performing arts facilities.

23. To participate in the College’s Teaching Observation and appraisal processes.

24. To carry out such duties and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated legislation as described in the College’s Health and Safety policy documents. To promote Health and safety to students.

25. To be aware of equality and diversity and safeguarding opportunities and demonstrate these principals in all aspects of work.

26. Such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may be reasonably required.

**Salary**: £31,337.00-£41,345.00 per year
