The Finance IT Applications Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of Finance software, including 3rd party packages and internally developed solutions. The role will be the primary contact for all ITSM matters including support, debugging and productownership, ensuring that software remains fit for purpose and working closely with your stakeholders to understand problems and identify requirements. The role will work to deliver a continuous improvement & software rationalisation programme on behalf ofthe Finance department that aligns with company & IT strategy. The role will co-ordinate with the Head of Digital & Internal Applications, but is predominantly autonomous to the group’s IT department. You must be comfortable working independently and takingownership of problems or issues through to resolution by co-ordinating with other team members or 3rd parties.

You are expected to be a technical problem solver and be able to get into the detail of specific issues so you can either resolve it yourself or co-ordinate with 3rd parties. You need to be a quick learner and not afraid to take control of situations whena complex problem occurs. In order to be successful, you need to be invested and engaged with the portfolio of work, ensuring all output meets the requirements of the business and taking ownership of the final product quality.

Hybrid working is available for this role, but you need to be able to be on-site in Bradford some days each week to become familiar with existing process and identify improvements. These days are flexible and to be discussed during the interview stage.

Duties include:

- Resolving problems, incidents and service requests for assets within your portfolio via the ITSM software (Halo ITSM)
- Debugging and resolving finance reconciliation problems caused by data errors and completing root cause analysis
- Transferring all legacy transactional data interchange solutions to an enterprise EDI software (Lobster_data)
- Working with suppliers to improve overall percentage of inbound invoice & credit to UK Business Units, usually via XML transactions or PDF OCR.
- Identifying the requirements of a change request by speaking to stakeholders and managing this through to completion
- Identifying software efficiency opportunities by analysing existing processes and procedures
- Writing T-SQL reports for Finance stakeholders
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously and keeping stakeholders updated on progress
- Supporting Finance teams through month end, quarter end and year end processes
- Delivering a software rationalisation roadmap with 3rd parties & the wider IT department

Professional Experience/Skills required:

- Ability to analyse high level business requirements and translate them into system development and implementation documents
- Adaptive, capable of conforming to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
- Capable of interpreting the communication styles of business system users and other project team members
- Strong commercial and analytical skills with demonstrable problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft T-SQL and Microsoft Access technology and be comfortable of creating Power Query reports
- Knowledge of EDI technology (CSV, XML & EDIFACT)
