Additional Learning Support Officer

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Apprentice and Adult learning ALS Support Officer working across the Additional Learning Support and Business Plus departments.
The primary aim of the role is to oversee the screening, assessment and recording of ALS provision for apprentices and adult learners within the college. Duties will include;
- To lead on the assessment of identified students using Cognassist software package
- To lead on the basic training of software use for teachers and coaches where required
- To work collaboratively with members of the Apprenticeship and Adult Education teams to ensure that ALS is effectively delivered to all students
- To work collaboratively with MIS in ensuring that all recording meets funding requirements
- To ensure that all record keeping and documentation meets compliance regulations and is available for inspection
- To carry out an initial assessment where required and produce an individual support plan for Apprentices and Adult Education Students with ALS
- To monitor and report on ALS requirements within Apprenticeships and Adult Education
- Level 2/Grade C (or equivalent) qualification in Maths and English
- Professional qualifications or demonstrated experience of working within the area of Additional Learning Support within a FE environment
- Demonstrable commitment and experience of working with young people and adults with additional learning needs and an understanding of support requirements in accessing education and training
- Experience of carrying out initial assessments and producing support plans
- Excellent IT skills and recoding keeping
- Experience of working with the Cognassist software package
**Benefits package**

The salary bandings are £23,466 - £24,777 (FTE), actual salary £9,830.35 - £10,379.55 (0.42FTE.)
