**Shield Foods (UK) Ltd is a long established ( Est.1990) seafood company, distributing Fresh and Frozen seafood products to restaurants in London and the surrounding counties.**

**We are looking to expand our Day Team and wish to recruit a self-motivated, hardworking and dedicated Warehouse Operative.**

Initial training will be provided.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Stock management, organising and handover of the cold store.
- Ensure accurate picking and packing to customer order requirements.
- Ensuring all batch numbers are recorded correctly at point of picking and confirming.
- Ensuring sufficient stock rotation is implemented to comply with “First in First out” rules.
- Inputting and updating incoming orders; confirming orders.
- Undertaking picking and defrosting forward order fish for day 2 and 3 as required
- Accountable for cleanliness of sorting room, night operation room and defrosters
- Accountable for the tidiness and organization of the freezer areas
- Replenishing stock and reporting to the operations manager or the procurement team if necessary.
- Ensure that all customers specifications and internal procedures are followed to the highest standard.
- Ensure pallets are stacked correctly in a safe manner within the facility and all relevant documentation is completed.
- Handle products in accordance with instructions, ensuring quality is not impaired by poor handling.
- Perform systematic stock checks as directed by management.
- Load vehicles with pallets and equipment in a safe and timely manner.
- Complying to food safety checks recording temperatures of products, if reading too high or low product, advise the management.
- Ensure that all goods delivered are booked in correctly via the company’s requirements and put away into correct locations.
- Ensure lobsters are checked every night; removing and reporting any dead lobsters with the correct procedures.
- Completing daily checklists as part of a team.
- Assisting production as and when required.
- Checking loads for damaged or missing items.
- Receiving goods in, handling deliveries.
- Storing goods in appropriate locations within the warehouse.

**Essential Skills**:

- Good Communication
- Ability to challenge and improve inefficient processes
- Warehouse experience
- Forklift license (preferred).
- Working knowledge of stock management systems
- Ability to plan, organise and delegate
- Knowledge of fresh and chilled foods
- Previous experience with BRC would be beneficial

**Salary**: £28,500.00 per year
