**About the Opportunity**
As the Head of Tendering, you will lead a consistent, rigorous and value-added approach to tendering across the Energy Division and Product Lines that actively tender for work. You will work closely with the Product Line Directors and the Head of Sales, will provide commercial management expertise and jointly ensure that the commercial offering to our chosen markets is successful.

As we are on an exciting, transformation journey as a business with a mission "One James Fisher", you will focus on strategy and process improvement/development, will lead the Tendering function and set the teams for growth. You will also ensure that we are more regional sector and market aligned.

This is an opportunity to shape the Tendering function in the Energy division and focus on developing the teams.

We are flexible when it comes to location for the role but Aberdeen/London would be preferable. There will be an expectation to travel to other sites once a month.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversight and responsibility of all tendering activities and subsequent approvals within authorised financial limits across the Energy Division.
- Support commercial and contractual negotiations for larger or more significant opportunities.
- Provide commercial advice as required to those Product Lines that don't tender for work.
- Working with the Business Excellence Division and the Head of Sales, Commercial and Marketing, have ownership of continuous improvements projects of internal tendering processes, systems and procedures.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the Energy Division Tender Team, globally across those Product Lines that tender for work, ensuring that tender personnel are given the correct training and development to assist in maintaining the company culture, motivation of staff and endorsement of company values to support staff retention.
- Ensure the Tender Team is properly resourced to manage all tender requirements and be responsible for the monitoring, assessment and, where necessary, improvement of the structure of the Tender Team to suit the changing demands and requirements of the business.
- Review monitor and report on all tendered opportunities including win and lose rates. Identify areas for continual improvement.
- Take overall divisional responsibility for ensuring opportunities follow the required approval process at every level from product line, divisional, investment committee and board levels.
- Realistic market pricing for commercial proposals, ensuring competitive offers are created within the organisation’s risk profile.
- Accurate forecasting of revenue and margin.
- Accuracy of opportunity pipeline.
- Win rate of Opportunities.
- Commercial and market knowledge (essential).
- Line Management and contract management experience (essential).
- Proposal / tender writing, negotiations skills and pricing/estimation experience (essential).
- Relevant experience at a strategic level in a BD, Sales or Commercial function in Renewables (Offshore Wind), Marine, Oil & Gas or other energy related industries will be an advantage.
