Calder Masonry Ltd are recruiting for a Dispatch & Yard Operative to join our busy team at Britannia Quarries, Morley, Leeds. This is a great opportunity for a positive, self-motivated, and energetic person to be part of a forward-thinking friendly company.

Calder Masonry Ltd are a quarry operator and manufacturer. We are one of the largest producers of dimensional York stone in the UK, supplying Woodkirk Yorkshire Sandstone to customers within the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The Role: This is a hands-on role where you will learn new skills and abilities which will allow you to progress and deliver a fast paced and efficient Dispatch service. As our Dispatch & Yard Operative, you will report directly to the Dispatch Manager and be trained to carry out duties, including:
Assist with all aspects of the Dispatch process.

Loading/unloading wagons

Checking and accepting receipt of deliveries

Stocktakes

Record pallet details from the factory drop zones

Contacting customers to arrange delivery

Booking designated haulage and pallet deliveries

Ensure communication is maintained with customers, to include the answering of delivery queries and provision of POD's

Yard organisation and maintenance

Keeping dispatch databases updated

Relaying accurate dispatch data for invoicing to the accounts team

Provide administrative support to the dispatch manager

Any other duties to aid the smooth running of dispatch

Qualifications and Skills required

Minimum O-level/GCSE grade C/Level 4 in Maths and English

IT literate and must have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Excel

Organised

Good numeracy skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Able to work on own initiative but not afraid to seek help and understanding

Training will include multiple software suites along with the operation of various items of mobile plant.
