This role will be covering our projects in the South/London area including Lewisham, Aurora 02, Gatwick, & Palace Street.

This exciting role has future opportunities to progress onto other project's supporting the team from design phase through to project completion.

**Role Purpose**:

- Provide risk based assurance that the project is compliant with HSES requirements of UK regulatory framework and the UK Business Management System (BMS)
- Collaboratively engage with both internal & external Customers as well as the Supply Chain
- Provide project with expert HSES technical advice, guidance and support
- Support work winning teams with quality HSES responses for bids, proposals and PQQs for future projects
- Engage and develop relationships with design & engineering teams to eliminate and reduce risk through HSES By Design
- Embed a culture where health is treated like safety
- Challenge the norm by innovating and improving the way we work, whilst keeping pace with industry change and promote successes
- Embed HSES Strategy through visible felt leadership in line with Zero Harm Vision

**What you'll be doing**
You will have the following accountabilities:

- Fully understand and support delivery of UK HSES Strategy
- Contribute to the implementation, delivery and review of the BU / DU Zero Harm Action Plan and Sustainability Action plan at business and/or project level
- Support the delivery of the HSES Key Performance Indicators at project & business level
- Support work winning teams with quality & innovative HSES responses for bids, proposals and PQQs
- Provide expert support to investigate accidents, incidents and near miss events in accordance with Balfour Beatty Group Standards and BMS Requirements
- In conjunction with operational management complete a local and bespoke risk based Service Level Agreement with each project which is kept under quarterly review
- Undertake regular site inspections as per project risk matrix
- Produce formal reports using the Project Portal to record planned & unplanned HSES inspections which review project performance against the UK HSES Regulatory Framework & UK Business Management System (BMS) requirements
- Undertakes regular checks on Environmental Risk Management ensuring that appropriate risks and opportunities have been identified and are being implemented

**Who we're looking for**
You will have the following qualities and experience:

- To have or be working toward Chartered Membership of IOSH
- Ability to influence and promote a positive HSES culture
- Competence in incident & accident investigation
- Strong understanding of UK Health and Safety Regulatory Framework & UK Business Management System
- Ability to prepare formal written reports and publications on HSES topics
- Ability to undertake project planning, project management and work to budgets
- Broad experience of complex construction and civils projects
