**Predominantly covering our learning locations in North London, Essex & Suffolk**

**Circa £24,353 per annum + excellent benefits **

**37.5 hours per week / Permanent contract**

**Love where you work**

Established in 1943, our network of Learning Locations provides day and residential outdoor education courses for all ages. We aim to create outstanding opportunities for everyone to learn about nature.

We value each of our team members and understand that every role is vital to deliver our mission, so, we provide great benefits* to reward and support you while you work with us.

**What you’ll be doing**

You’ll be part of our team of Regional Senior Tutors who regularly travel to work on a ‘relief’ basis to cover education courses where our centres need an extra hand. We are a diverse and supportive team who love to travel and share our specialist knowledge to a wide range of students.

This role is ideal if you are looking to progress your environmental education career. Working at a variety of Field Studies centres challenges you to develop, plan, and deliver outdoor learning activities in multiple field sites that you wouldn’t get if you were based in one location. Allowing you to grow as an individual and leader in your field of expertise.

When you’re not working in the field, our Regional Senior Tutors can get involved in wider projects across our charity, including initiatives to help us become more sustainable, reduce our carbon emissions, support nature recovery, boost biodiversity and staff wellbeing.

This is an active role, some weeks will be long and tiring, but our team finds this work very rewarding, and we promise you will too Follow this link to meet our Senior Tutor, Pippa. Let her show you what it is like to work at the Field Studies Council and why she loves where she works

Please refer to the vacancy pack for full details of the responsibilities of the role.

**Where you’ll be based**

You’ll work on a ‘relief’ basis predominantly covering our learning locations in North London, Essex & Suffolk.

Our schedules are written out well in advance, sometimes up to 8 weeks, so you have plenty of notice on where you will be. Although, we do need you to have some flexibility to cover at short notice at times, for example if an illness occurs.

When you’re not scheduled to work at a learning location, you are offered the option to work from home remotely or from the nearest centre to your homebase.

Currently, this role is offered on a non-resident basis (negotiable); but accommodation is provided whilst working at a location away from your home area.

**Who we’re looking for**

You’ll have a degree or equivalent in an appropriate academic discipline, previous experience of teaching or tutoring and experience of writing and undertaking risk assessments.

In addition you will have:

- A great work ethic where aptitude and attitude are key
- A natural pride in the work you produce
- A flexible and adaptive approach able to perform using your own initiative both independently and as a team player
- A professional manner in all that you do
- An empathy with the aims and objectives of Field Studies Council
- A committed and proactive approach to personal development; motivated to learn new skills and overcome new challenges
- **Your benefits whilst working with us will include**:

- ** Financial -** We offer competitive salaries, sick pay, pension schemes, life assurance, 28 days annual holiday entitlement plus bank holidays and a further 2 extra loyalty days dependent on length of service.
- ** Health and Wellbeing -** Eligible employees are automatically provided with a Health Cash Plan which you can use to help pay for routine health appointments as well as give you the ability to seek second opinions from top doctors We also provide our team members with access to a 24hr Counselling Helpline Service.
- ** Discounts -** When you join the team you are also enrolled into our reward programme which gives you discounts on your favourite brands and opportunities to earn cash back on everyday purchases
- ** Additional benefits -** We endeavour to offer flexible working options where roles permit and are committed to providing our employees with appropriate quality learning and development opportunities.
