**Dispatch Specialist**

**Salary £44,845 - £52,758 per annum, depending on skills and experience**

**About The Role**

We have an exciting, new opportunity to join our scheduling and dispatch department as a Dispatch Specialist.

As a Dispatch Specialist you will report direct into the Dispatch Manager. Your role will entail strong leadership, management, communication and influencing/negotiating skills to build and maintain effective relationships with staff and management at all levels, both internally and across stakeholder groups. You will also be the single point of contact for the Network for all Dispatch activities, including system expertise(Click/SAP), IS relationship management and resilience lead (including BCM/cyber security).

The successful person will need to have had prior experience of maintaining Dispatch operations and be passionate in trying to continuously improve performance within the team and networks. You will also need to be comfortable with being on standby as this is a requirement for the nature of this role.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Ensuring the successful dispatch of resources for reactive and planned work and other on day decision making to keep the agreed plan on track whilst maximising the utilisation of the field force, ensuring the right resources are trained with the right equipment to enable delivery of a 24/7 operation.
- Evaluating and responding to emerging situations and supporting operations during incidents to ensure continued safety of the public.
- Managing BCM incidents impacting Dispatch systems and subsequent recovery.
- The delivery of internal and external outcomes associated with their role with specific accountability to feed back.
- Management of the delivery of the on day plan, including providing feedback on any operational resourcing and performance issues in order to maintain operational and regulatory requirements and ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant policies, standards and procedures.
- Understanding, communicating and championing the overall strategy for the network and ensuring customers are kept informed via the measurement of customer performance and driving the team to deliver great customer experiences.
- Leading on post day review to feedback on the plan with Scheduling Specialist - was the plan executed or was the plan handed over a ‘bad pass’.

**About You**
- Analytical or Engineering Degree or equivalent is desirable but not essential if appropriate business experience and skills can be demonstrated
- Valid current UK driving licence
- Experience and understanding of Dispatch activities.
- Prior Experience of managing teams directly and influencing across virtual teams.
- Previous experience of stakeholder and customer relationship management at all levels, both internally and externally
