The purpose of this role is to provide preventative (planned), responsive and emergency maintenance to support upkeep of The Brick properties, charity shops, bike workshop, offices, equipment, furniture and fittings.
- **DUTIES WILL INCLUDE**:_

Inspection, maintenance and repair of premises, fixtures, fittings and furniture to ensure correct working conditions. To include the repairing or renovating of plumbing and electrical fittings, painting and decorating and undertaking minor DIY projects, where necessary, and maintaining records of all works carried out:

- Liaise with any contractors on site.
- Advise the Line Manager of any maintenance problems which might affect the efficient running of any property.
- Specify and order materials and equipment through the Line Manager when required.
- Emergency Maintenance
- The successful completion of maintenance request tasks, necessary updates and the closure of completed requests.
- Fixing faults on site or arranging for replacement equipment to be installed through the Line Manager.
- To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested by the Line Manager, appropriate to the grade, including but not limited to: Unblocking drains, Mastic Seal Replacement, Decorations, Washer Replacement, Cleaning Ventilation Fans
- Ensuring the H&S practices are compliant is wearing the appropriate protective clothing against chemicals, noise, etc and that the postholder and other staff are carrying out operations in accordance with The Brick’s policy and safe working practices.
- To notify the Line Manager of accidents, hazards or any other concerns relating to Health & Safety and safe working practices.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**

Technical Skills / Professional Qualifications
- Wide knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including carpentry, painting and decorating, plumbing and electrical works.
- Numerate.
- Literate.
- Clean driving licence.
- City and Guilds craft certificate in a construction trade, or a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in a relevant trade or in multi-trade building maintenance operations City & Guilds advanced craft certificate in a construction trade, or a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in a relevant trade or in multi-trade building maintenance operations
- IT literate.

Experience Required
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Basic record keeping, manual and electronic.
- Ability to follow planned maintenance schedules and instructions.
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults an advantage

**Out of Hours**

You may on occasions be expected to undertake work in the early mornings, evenings and weekends to ensure full delivery.

Be willing to undertake and assist in fundraising activities which may occur out of hours. Promoting fundraising for the Charity

**General**
To be responsible to the Charity’s Management team

The post holder will be expected to:
Perform any other duties consistent with the broad objectives of the post.

Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives.

Attend and be an active participant in team meetings, team training and other internal meetings etc.

Attend external meetings, forums, conferences, training etc. as required by Queen’s Hall Action on Poverty.
