**About the Opportunity**

This is a great opportunity to join our highly experienced commercial function as part of team delivering an exciting new high value business changing framework for a major Government agency.

The Commercial support roles will be engaged on a portfolio of projects from tender preparation through to delivery and handover and report directly into the Framework Commercial Lead.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Lead and develop the efficient and effective management and issue of accurate, timely and contract compliant documentation.
- Work with the Commercial Lead in ensuring consistency and best practice ways of working across the project portfolios.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the project management and engineering teams and liaise with Employers commercial team and client team.
- Coach respective Operational personnel in relation to the Contract, Contract Administration, Contract Risk, Procurement, Forecasting and Contract Profitability.
- Ensure effective and timely change management
- Ensure correct administrative processes are put in place for management of Sub-Contracts paying attention to change controls, early warning, compensation events, changes to scope of works and payment.
- Support the Project Manager in resolving commercial issues with the Client and implement strategies to avoid litigation/claims.
- Proactively support the Business Project Review Process.
- Contribute to the management and maintenance of a contract cost reporting system, ensuring all financial information is managed and up to date and tracked with budget/tender allowances, commitments & deviations highlighted and managed;.
- Manage subcontracts from initial placement of order to final account.
- Prepare, review and complete sub-contract documentation.
- Maintain effective, accurate cost control.
- Ensure contractual and commercial risks and opportunities for realising efficiencies are identified to the Project and Commercial Managers.
- Maintain registers of variations, delay, extension of time, early warnings and claims
- Collaboration with Business Development and Operations in developing value propositions that enhance our customers’ competitive position.
- Work with project teams to develop innovative solutions, that respond to client challenges.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Degreed qualified (preferred) in commerce, finance, engineering, quantity surveying and/or law.
- Previous experience in a similar role for other recognised main contractors
- Solid working knowledge of construction and contract law and various forms of the NEC Conditions of Contract.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of tendering and procurement processes.
- Strong commercial business acumen.
- Knowledge of contract management tools, reporting and financial systems
- Security Cleared or the ability to obtain the required level of clearance
- Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to communicate confidently
- Hands on with a can-do attitude
