**Purpose of the role**:
To support the Business Support and Advocacy team and manager by providing administrative support, as required:

- Provide widespread support to the Business Support Manager and Business Support team in their roles
- Support the success of the Shopmobility service by working with the Senior Shopmobility Officer to manage bookings, recording keeping and arranging maintenance of equipment and the site
- Work effectively and proactively as a part of the Business Support Team
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Volunteer Co-ordinator, such as organising DBS checks and upkeeping resources
- Support the Advocacy Manager to manage and process referrals into Equal Lives’ Community Advocacy Service

Everyone who works within Equal Lives needs to have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people. This role will require a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check and training will be given regarding any current regulatory requirements.

**Principal tasks**

**Service Delivery**:

- Provide administrative support to the Business Support Manager; this would relate to Governance, facilities management and record keeping
- Be based at our Shopmobility site within Chantry Place, once a week to greet customers and support them to borrow and use the equipment
- Responding to queries from teams and managers around facilities management and liaising with our property owners to resolve issues
- Escalating concerns to the Business manager, when required. To log these issues and the resolution as they arise.
- To support the Business Support team with administrative tasks such as handling correspondence, message taking, phone calls, writing minutes, updating systems and records etc
- To check the centralised inboxes, ensuring they are organised, queries are responded to and appropriate messages are passed on
- To provide support to the Senior Volunteer Co-ordinator, as required, including undertaking administrative tasks related to volunteers, volunteer recruitment and training
- Liaise and support with queries from Trustees, including support with the arrangement of board meetings and the AGM
- Dealing with queries from staff (including volunteers) to provide support around equipment management such as mobiles and laptops - where appropriate refer to the Business Support Manager
- Any other task as directed by the Business Support Manager
- Monitor incoming referrals to the Community Advocacy team and log these referrals on our database, Charity Log
- Communicate with referrers and clients in regards to the referrals process, as required

- Work to ensure that Equal Lives’ services are of the highest possible standards
- Undertake role in a way that is empowering to service users and is guided by independent living philosophy and the social model of disability
- Provide cover for colleagues and undertake other appropriate duties, as required
- To represent and promote the work of Equal Lives across both relevant professional networks and in a leadership capacity as required.
- The post-holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as detailed above.
