**An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cyber University of the Year as a Reader in Data Science - Teaching and Research**:
The Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences offers a full range of contemporary, professionally accredited programmes incorporating Foundation Year, Undergraduate, Taught Postgraduate, Transnational Education as well as Degree Apprenticeships and Doctoral level study opportunities. These include key areas such as Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology and Mathematics, as well as emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The Department forms a key part of the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences, within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Additionally, the University has led the development of a new £9m Cyber Quarter - The Midlands Centre for Cyber Security at Skylon Park, Hereford Enterprise Zone, Hereford. The centre is a joint venture between the University of Wolverhampton and Herefordshire Council. It is part-funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Local Growth Fund. The new Centre has remit to engage with SMEs and conduct collaborative research and innovation projects in the field of Cyber Security. The Centre will also engage in research collaborations to bring the latest cyber security solutions, training and innovations to SME's and the businesses in the region. The Centre aims to provide a cyber range simulation platform and an IoT security testing platform for businesses. The Centre will provide several commercial cyber related services ranging for R&D consultancy, cyber testing to bespoke cyber training. You will be required to engage with Cyber Quarter and support its objectives.

You will be expected to boost the already successful research carried out by the School. You will be expected to produce REF-returnable outputs, attract external income, seek industrial collaborations, undertake some teaching, and supervise PhD students.

You should have evidence of an individual track record in research which is at the cutting edge of the relevant fields and is recognised internationally (e.g., through publications in journals). You should have a track record of having successfully obtained funding from external sources and successfully completed projects.
