We are looking for a Research & Insight Officer to join our Business Intelligence team at Leicestershire County Council.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working with data in a business intelligence, performance management, research or analytical team.

**About the Role**:
This role will work closely with the Senior Research and Insight Analyst responsible to provide Business Intelligence support to Children and Family Services primarily for education sufficiency and school place planning. You will assist with the production of annual school level pupil forecasts and the internal and external reporting of that data.

**About You**:

- Experience of researching specific issues and managing and analysing data (e.g. producing charts, tables, maps, dashboards and use of statistical/analytical techniques)
- Experience of presenting data and information using a variety of IT packages
- Knowledge of specialist software that underpins the team's work areas - particularly knowledge of Tableau (or similar visualisation packages) would be an advantage but also others such as SNAP, SPSS, R, Excel, SQL Management Studio and an ability to learn new packages
- Excellent IT skills (including in Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook) and a proven ability to learn new packages as well as good literacy and numeracy skills and demonstrable effective problem-solving skills
- Care and concern for the accuracy of information and evidence of attention to detail in working methods
- Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills and good organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative (including working from home)

**Salary**: £29,784.00-£36,660.00 per year
