Here at Hemingways, we are currently looking for a Senior IT Technician to join our friendly and growing team. As a Senior IT Technician, you will need to be excellent at problem-solving, be able to work under pressure and have a positive, driven attitude. As Senior IT Technician, your primary responsibility will be to develop, administer, maintain and secure Hemingway’s infrastructure systems, focusing on the company’s VMWare/Windows environment, Hosted Systems, Cisco networks & Telephony.

**Main duties include**:

- Support, maintain and develop Hemingways IT infrastructure.
- Liaise with third parties engaged in hosting and supporting Hemingways systems.
- Document IT systems and processes.
- Maintain secure systems in alignment with PCI and DPA standards.
- Ensure change management processes are followed for system/software changes.
- Provide advice and support to other IT team members.
- Provide advice and support to other business areas and staff.
- Assist the IT Manager with the ISO27001 based ISMS.
- Deputise for the IT Manager.
- Positively promote the companies policies and standards.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft server and desktop systems, VMWare VSphere, Cisco firewalls and switches, TCP/IP, switching, routing, SMTP, proxy servers, DHCP and DNS, IT hardware, VOIP telephone systems, IT security issues.
- Ability to analyse business issues and provide technical solutions.
- Project management.
- Excellent written communication.
- Excellent level of time management, organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage a broad workload.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Able to confidently liaise with people at all levels.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to use own initiative to drive improvements.
- High level of professional conduct and discretion.
- Willingness to work outside of regular hours when required.
- At least five years’ experience of working in a systems support/development role with IT.
- IT-related academic qualification or professional qualification, e.g. VCP, CCSA, MCSA.
- GCSE Maths, English.

**Desirable**:

- Desirable knowledge of VMWare VSAN, Cloud Hosting (AWS/Azure etc.), Avaya IP Office telephone system, Knowledge of ITIL and ISO27001.
- Positively embrace change and new ways of working.
- Strong ability to learn, develop within IT and keep abreast of new technologies.
- Positive and driven to excel.
- IT-related degree or equivalent.
- Project management qualification.
- ITIL qualification.
