**The Home**

Bannview House is a modern, purpose-built Nursing Home supporting up to 80 residents. The Home is designed with individual bedrooms and ensuite facilities, a comfortable lounge and dining areas. Many rooms in the Home have fantastic views of the rural countryside. The attractive enclosed gardens and patio area provide residents with a safe and relaxing place to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Bannview House has three dedicated units covering various categories of care including General Nursing, Dementia Nursing and General Residential.

**The Role**

The Kitchen Assistants in our Homes play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, ensuring that residents receive high quality meals and dining experiences. The role is essential to the wellbeing of our residents through the provision of high-quality, person-centred dining experiences.

Working as part of the Kitchen team, reporting to the Chef the role is about a lot more than preparing and serving meals - the Kitchen Assistant will support with ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met in addition to contributing to a safe and positive working environment.

**About The Role**

**Main Responsibilities**
- Ensure that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company's Assured Safe Catering standards.
- Deliver meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
- Under direction, assist with the basic preparation of food items.
- Ensure all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and serving areas (as appropriate) is completed and complies with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
- Deliver and maintain a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and ensure that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef, Cook or Home Manager.

**Required Criteria**
- The Right to Work in the UK
- A good standard of both verbal and written English
- Previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

**Desired Criteria**
- Previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment
