Birmingham, United Kingdom Autism West Midlands Full time

Autism West Midlands are the leading charity in the West Midlands for people on the autism spectrum. We use our expertise to enrich the lives of autistic people and those who love and care for them. Our passionate, expert staff and volunteers work across all age groups and abilities, providing direct support.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an understanding of autism and experience supporting individuals to join the leading Autism Charity in the region and make a difference to the lives of autistic people and their families.

Due to additional funding, we are recruiting to a new post to support parent carers living in Birmingham.

We are looking for someone who has professional or lived experience of supporting parent carers of children with autism/SEND. Experience of providing advice, information and support as well as delivering training/presentations is also essential. An understanding of how autism strategies can be used in a person-centered way will also be an advantage.

The post holder will need flexibility to work as part of a small team including working outside their normal working hours when required, including some evening and very occasional weekend work.

This post is funded until October 2025. This will mean a fixed term contract will be offered due to funding constraints but with possibility of extension.
