Programme & Performance Manager

One of our Civil Engineering clients require a Programme and Performance Manager.
Reporting to the Business Director, you will form part of the contract leadership team with responsibility for programme and performance management 70%/30%, as well as lead the development of a 'programme led’ culture to ensure the effective delivery ofthe service against an agreed Annual Plan.
As the Programme and Performance Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:
To work with clients, project managers, project leads and key partners to develop a robust and deliverable Annual Plan using techniques such as collaborative planning.
To oversee the development, implementation and management of a service-wide integrated design and construction programme. This will include:
- Developing appropriate logic-linked Work Breakdown Structures for individual projects and programmes of work
- Monitoring progress against baselines and challenging performance of design and delivery teams
- Engaging effectively with colleagues to understand change and overseeing the updating of the integrated programme
- Analysing and reporting on programme performance so that the impact on delivery dates, spend, resources and other risks can be understood and mitigated
- To lead the upskilling of colleagues and development of a 'programme led’ culture
To oversee the management of the contract-specific Key Performance Measures. This will include:
- Overseeing the collection, validation, analysis and reporting of performance data
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and working with colleagues to implement change
- Work with our corporate digital solutions team to improve the automation of data collection analysis and reporting via PowerBI and other systems
- To provide line management to a small team of planning and performance professionals
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Considerable experience of developing and maintaining programmes including use of specialist software such as Microsoft Project, Asta Power Project or Primavera.
- Proven organisational skills including planning and programming
- Ability to engage, liaise and communicate effectively across a diverse range of project stakeholders, building support for new business initiatives
- Experience of collaborative planning techniques
- Experience of integrating and interrogating data from a wide range of sources (DESIRABLE)
- Experience in development and delivery of highway-based projects (DESIRABLE)
- Experience of NEC contracts (DESIRABLE)
- Driving Licence
