**Overview of Responsibilities**
**Who are we looking for?**
The SHEQ department is looking for an enthusiastic Health Physicist/Trainee RPA with good interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills to join the team in a permanent role.
You will provide advice and guidance to a wide range of personnel to ensure observance of the legislation such as the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17) and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and other related legislation and compliances
To be considered, you will have gained experience working in an operational Health Physics position and be working towards RPA certification
You must be a member of the Society for Radiological Protection (SRP) and have a relevant radiation protection qualification.
**What you will be responsible for**:

- Provision of operational radiation safety advice in an industrial research environment
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations primarily Ionising Radiations Regulations (IRR17) and the Environmental Permitting Regulations.
- Provision of technical support to HAZOP, BAT, Risk Assessments, Method Statements etc
- Delivering training on radiological protection (radiation and tritium), beryllium safety and other health physics topics

**Additional Information**:

- You will be working in Radiological, and Beryllium designated areas.
- This role involves Tritium research, Nuclear/Radiological Materials

**Qualifications**
**Essential Criteria and Qualifications**:

- Experience of working at an operational level in health physics within an industrial/research environment.
- Good knowledge of the Ionising Radiations Regulations and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
- As a minimum NVQ L2 Diploma Radiation Protection or City & Guilds Stage I Radiation Safety.

**Desirable Criteria and Qualifications**:

- Experience of working at an operational level in health physics within an industrial/research environment. Good knowledge of the Ionising Radiations Regulations and Environmental Permitting Regulations. Experience of working with tritium.
- Working towards radiation protection professional qualification e.g. RPA certification
