National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is an exciting place to work and develops understanding at the cutting edge of science and engineering in the nuclear industry. The work experience programme allows you to gain access into our working environments providing more insight into the nuclear industry, NNL and different career paths.

We will be holding the work experience programme at our **Workington Laboratory, Cumbria CA14 3YQ **for 5 days, from the** 29th July to the 2nd August 2024 **for students in years 10 - 13.

**Please note that the programme runs on a hybrid model with 3 days in person ( Monday - Wednesday) and 2 days delivered virtually (Thursday - Friday). You must be available to attend the full five-day programme. We are unable to provide work experience on alternative dates, individuals must be available on the above dates**

Main Responsibilities
The work experience has been designed to give you an idea of what it is like to work in the nuclear industry. You will get to visit our facilities, take part in workshops, meet experts from across the business and work as a team to undertake a project. Talks will be given virtually by industry experts on a wide range of topics to help you learn more about our industry. You will also have the chance to talk to graduates and apprentices whilst exploring the different career paths available to you across the nuclear industry.

To be considered for a place on our programme you must:

- Be able to attend the full five-day programme and be able to travel to NNL Workington Laboratory on the required dates
- Have an interest in STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology & Maths)
- Have access to a device that allows use of Microsoft Teams communications facility with working video, speaker and microphone functions e.g. iPad, laptop, smartphone.
