Blend the worlds of recreation and medical innovation

Fortrea is one of the largest early-stage Clinical Research Organizations in the world, and we recently expanded our clinic in Leeds. This is a world class, state-of-the-art 65,000 ft² clinic with 100 beds (and growing), fully dedicated to Early Clinical research (and 7 minutes walking from the train station)

And this is where you come in because we are seeking the Recreational Activities Coordinator of our new Clinical Research Unit.
- This is an office-based, full-time and permanent job, working hours are 37 hours per week, five days over seven.
- You will typically work Monday to Friday, some weekends may be required (which will be compensated with flexi time or overtime pay.)

ON A NORMAL DAY, YOU WILL

Our experience shows that having a Recreational Coordinator in place completely changes the experience for the clinical trial participants: they are more engaged and adherence to protocol procedures increase.

This is why we need you. To design and implement the entertainment and social welfare of volunteers/patients during their stay at the clinic. We´ll trust you to:

- Organize and implement programmes of entertainment activities to meet the needs of participants based on length of the study, age range, gender, study requirements and restrictions, and within specified budget.
- Entertainment planning, building an ongoing calendar of activities which is inclusive and creatively meets the multiple needs of participants of all ages and conditions.
- Conduct your projects according to the procedure and schedules as determined in the relevant SOPs and study protocols.
- Ensure that the dignity, health, safety and welfare of volunteers is given the highest priority at all times, conducting your projects according to Good Clinical Practices, SOPs and protocol procedures, and Fortrea´s cardiac resuscitation policy.
- Prepare all relevant documentation, rooms and equipment required to perform the activities.
- Maintain close and timely communication links with Senior Managers, Clinical Operations and Research Nurse Supervisors to ensure all teams are informed of any deviations from the study protocol.

WHO YOU ARE
- Leisure or Recreation management expertise gained through education, training and experience, ideally in a residential, nursing, kindergarten or retirement home setting (we are also open to event planning, or summer/holiday camps
- or similar background)
- Previous experience planning, organizing, structuring and implementing programs of activities and events that meet a varied group (in gender, age, physical conditions) needs.
- Strong sense of empathy and understanding of the needs of patients in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to also implement rules, regulations and codes of conduct on behavior in a regulated setting.
- Outgoing personality, creative, showing enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for bringing joy to others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds and health conditions.

DISCOVER THE FORTREA CAREER ADVANTAGE

A new, modern building, with more space means more possibilities: we want you to see the clinic as a white canvas to reinvent the set of recreational activities we offer to our patients: from the pool room to videogames or the roof-top garden, the floor is yours to design new entertainment with our participants in mind.

No two days will be the same: you will be exposed to a wide range of therapeutic indications which ensures you will work with a varied population.

Witness firsthand clinical research unfolding in real time. When the drug you supported gets approved, you know you´ll touch many patient´s lives around the world.
