**Job Role**: Head of Support and Inclusion (Wales)

**Hours**: Full time (38 hours per week)

**Salary**:£45,923 - £50,061 (depending on experience) plus **£4,800 **car allowance per annum

**Base**:Hybrid Role - Home working & one of Perthyn’s regional offices in Wales (Swansea, Pembrokeshire, Talgarth)

**About the role**

This post can be based in any of the regional offices in Wales (Swansea, Pembrokeshire, Talgarth) and would require extensive travel across the business to meet the needs of the role. It is therefore essential that you hold a current UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle. Reporting to the Executive Director you’ll be responsible for the operational management and oversight of all support provided in Wales, ensuring consistently high-quality services are delivered across the regions. You’ll also become registered with CIW as the Responsible Individual for Perthyn. We’re therefore looking for someone with extensive experience of managing services within Social Care at a middle or senior management level (to include support of people with a Learning Disability) along with experience of developing new high-quality services.

**Key Responsibilities of the Head of Support & Inclusion**
- To ensure that all services delivered meet both contractual and regulatory obligations and requirements, working in partnership with Perthyn’s business risk & quality assurance department.
- To promote inclusion by ensuring the people we support are actively involved in all aspects of their support including recruitment, induction and probation, policy reviews, quality monitoring systems and access to other agencies that help them to have a voice.
- To provide leadership and direction to the Regional Management Teams in Wales, with the expectation that the counties that come within the span of the role will fluctuate depending on commissioning decisions and opportunities.
- To work as part of the Perthyn Leadership Team in developing and delivering the strategic and operational plans for Support and Inclusion Services and contribute to wider departmental plans, in line with Perthyn’s aims and objectives.
- To use knowledge of the needs and opportunities across the sector in Wales to inform the strategic planning process.
- To be accountable for the ongoing development and improvement of services in Wales to ensure high quality individualised support provision.
- Develop positive and proactive relationships with Local Authorities, Health Trusts, other support providers, people supported by Perthyn and their representatives.
- To develop a strategic overview of business development opportunities, working with the Director of Support and Inclusion in pursuing these opportunities, taking a lead and project managing their development in other geographical areas as required.

**Who we’re looking for?**

Holding a management and or professional qualification at level 5 or above, you’ll need extensive experience of managing services within Social Care at a middle or senior management level along with extensive knowledge and experience in working with people with varied support needs e.g. learning disability, autism, complex behaviour, complex physical needs, mental health. Thorough working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory standards is also essential.

Responsible for the Regional Managers and Service Development Managers in each region you will have the ability to manage and motivate teams and individuals, to achieve the highest possible level of performance.

You’ll have experience of developing new high-quality services and managing complex and changing projects and the ability to analyse and use complex information management systems data effectively.

You’ll have the ability to network effectively and to develop pro-active working relationships internally and externally along with effective written and verbal communication skills delivered with clarity and impact.

Strong negotiating skills and experience of problem solving and developing innovative approaches to support delivery is also essential.

The post holder will also be required to participate on the senior management on-call rota out of hours.
