We have a fantastic opportunity for a Neighbourhood Officer at Manchester City Council. This is a Full-time role for the next 3 months, with the possibility of extension.

**What is the role?**

Manchester City Council’s Housing Services Team are looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Officer to be responsible for advising the public and external stakeholders on statutory regulations, legislation,and national guidelines on core regulatory activities.

**What are your responsibilities?**
- Support with the delivery of Manchester City Council’s statutory enforcement obligations and where necessary liaise with other Council departments or relevant bodies.
- Deal effectively with requests for within designated timescales and maintaining accurate records of all relevant investigations, inspections, and meetings.
- Provide technical and legislative advice in interpretation and enforcement of relevant legislation to officers across Neighbourhood Services. Assist in the review and translation of statutory regulations, legislation, and national guidelines.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to develop and maintain effective partnerships, linkages and greater coordinated working ensuring effective community and member engagement and clear channels of communication.
- Ensure that complex information is interpreted to a high standard and potential solutions are communicated to relevant parties.

**What skills do you Need?**
- Previous experience as a Neighbourhood Officer for a local authority would be ideal.
- Strong IT Skills, as you will need to upload important information on internal systems.
- You will need to hold a full driving licence access to a vehicle.
- HHSRS Trained and Certified
- Valid Standard DBS on the update service
- Experienced in using Flare/ Authority Public Protection (Civica).
- In depth knowledge of Housing Legislation, or a HNC / Degree in Environmental Health
