An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Data Co-ordinator, within the Trauma and Neuro group at University hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

A key part of this role will be developing and maintaining systems to support the clinical teams with meeting national targets and key performance indicators.

In addition, you would also be expected to undertake administrative functions including preparing reports and taking minutes from governance meetings to support the groups Quality and Safety agenda.

The primary responsibility is to manage the data collection for local and national reporting requirements. To provide support to the Trauma and Neuro Services team with particular emphasis on clinical data requirements, ensuring that mechanisms are in place for the continued achievement of national and local data targets, and locally commissioned key performance indicators.

Ensure all data is collected, audited, validated and reported in a timely manner to systems within the Trauma and Neuro group.

**Responsibilities**:

- Act as first point of contact for dealing with routine enquiries relating to data audit requests and national targets as appropriate
- Liaising with healthcare professionals to obtain information for clinical audit purposes and ensure accuracy and completeness of the Trust’s data
- Develops and maintains the necessary documentation and systems to monitor and support the continued performance against the national data targets set quarterly and by calendar yea
- Develop effective mechanisms to ensure that patient data is collected on a timely manner. This will be achieved by supporting the junior doctors in these aspects of their role and identifying any training needs
- Provide activity reports, statistics and data as required by clinicians, managers and research teams for local audit/research. Produce ad-hoc reports for clinical leads as and when require
- Develop and sustain effective communication channels with the speciality teams and other key staff groups/departments involved in the management of the patient’s pathway in order to ensure complete and accurate data collection to national research organisation
- Monitor performance of department against set objectives and standards using appropriate data and information reporting any difficulties to relevant lead clinicians and manager
