Purchasing Assistant

**Role Overview**
Our purchasing assistant will work alongside our purchasing manager to ensure we order and stock the correct materials and supplies based on our companies needs, enabling us to complete all projects on time, with continued liaison with all suppliers and vendors to ensure purchasing prices are the most competitive in the market.
Purchasing Assistant responsibilities include researching new vendors, tracking deliveries and updating order records, for example dates, invoices and discounts. Be familiar with supply chain procedures and know how to create and translate cost analyses.
You will assist the purchasing manager to make cost-effective purchases and ensure we maintain a fully stocked inventory.
Liaising and communicating directly with all departments is extremely important, to ensure orders are placed and received when required.
**Responsibilities**
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Research potential vendors
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
- Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
- Prepare cost analyses
- Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
- Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
**Requirements and skills**
- Work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or similar role
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Hands-on experience with CRM software (CLARITY)
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Knowledge of market research
- Solid organizational skills
**Salary**: £19,157.62-£26,035.18 per year
