**This post is only open to Bradford Council Employees who are on Established or Fixed Term Contract because the Council has to consider employment opportunities for its workforce.**

The Specialist Inclusion Project provides leisure and recreational opportunities, clubs, groups, holiday sessions for children with additional needs form 8-18 years old. There are various clubs and groups, fun days and summer schemes in the school holidays.

There are also social activities for the whole family. All activities are varied and take place in a safe and nurturing environment.

The team can also support young people with personal care/medication/mobility and many other identified needs. The Specialist Inclusion Project works jointly with many other organisations to provide the widest range of opportunities to support young people within the local community.

An opportunity has arisen for a post of Senior Leisure and Recreational Coordinator - you will be expected to play a key role in the development and delivery of prevention and family support, in particular, by ensuring that a high quality of specialist inclusion services is provided for children/ young people who access the facilities.

You will be participating in and contributing to the overall management of the service and to lead a team of leisure and recreational coordinators and support a team of casual workers in the delivery of the service.
- You must have a NVQ 4 (prior to 2011) or Diploma 5 in Health & Social Care or Children & Young People or equivalent (e.g. relevant degree, Dip SW, RGN, Teaching, Youth and Community etc.) as specified by the service. Equivalent must include work based assessed competencies working with children and families.
- Must have at least 4 years’ experience working with children or people who display
- challenging behaviours and/or learning disabilities and have worked in a supervisory role of either students, volunteers or permanent staff and have experience in chairing meetings
- You must be able to demonstrate evidence of a general, broad-based education. Level of literacy to write clear and accurate notes.
- You must evidence that you have excellent inter personal skill and the ability to relate to a diverse group of services users and professionals.
- You will be required to work on your own initiative as a substantial part of the role is based out in the community.
- Must have experience of supervision and dealing with conflict.
- You must evidence that you have excellent inter-personal skill and the ability to relate to a diverse group of services users and professionals.
- The ability to remain calm but assertive when faced with challenges.
- Must be able to work out of hours including evenings, weekends, early mornings etc.
- Must hold a current driving licence unless a disability prevents this.
- Once in post there is an expectation that you will study for the following qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care & Children and Young people’s services (England) (3978-53) Advanced Practitioner Pathway, NVQ4 CYP, A Assessors Qualifications, A1, D32/33, TAQA Award 301, TAQA Certificate 301, 302, 303.
