**Scheme Manager**
**Permanent role - £30,000 per annum + ECU Allowance**
**35 hours per week**
**The client**
Morgan Hunt are delighted to be working with a reputable Housing Association who are looking to recruit a Scheme Manager to manage two supported housing schemes in South Manchester.
**The service**
The first service that the Scheme Manager will manage supports people with mental ill - health and supports customers to gain the necessary skills needed to move into independent living as well as addressing any practical problems and social issues they mayface, so that they can improve and maintain good mental and physical health.
The second service within this remit, supports those with memory loss / dementia and involves helping customers to live independently, maintain their quality of life and be active in their local community.
Both services operate under Manchester City Council's Housing Related Support programme.
**The role - Scheme Manager**
- Ensuring effective management of the schemes, overseeing the support to the customers, efficient collection of rent, monitoring of voids, supervision of colleagues and facilitating care.
- Staff management including effective management of the colleague teams, conducting regular supervision, and taking part in the recruitment process of staff.
- Maintaining/developing scheme risk assessments, policies, and procedures.
- Working closely with all teams to ensure a consistent and effective service.
- Monitoring service standards and quality within the project and ensuring that staff are focused on key performance indicators.
- In conjunction with the Supported Living Manager, developing the services and ensuring adherence to the Local Authority's outcome and performance monitoring and quality assurance procedures and controls.
- Managing the projects' rotas to ensure the projects are adequately always covered.
- Ensuring that the services meet their aims and objectives in maintaining and developing skills and independence.
- In conjunction with the Support Living Manager, overseeing the projects' budgets and ensuring they are effectively managed.
- Ensuring that support services are in keeping with support plans and risk assessments and facilitating care services in accordance with the Local Authority's quality assurance procedures and controls.
- Ensuring effective maintenance of both day to day and planned maintenance of the schemes.
- Developing and maintaining links with key partners (Housing Related Support Commissioners, Adult Social Care, CMHTs, Outreach Services, Manchester Social Services, Alzheimer's Society) and external agencies (such as Housing Benefit, GP's, carers and families).
- Liaising with referral agencies to provide effective services and ensure effective inter-departmental communications.
- Facilitating customer involvement and ensuring a broad range of customer services and appropriate social/leisure activities operate within the schemes.
- Ensuring central areas of buildings are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations such as Health & Safety, Fire and other statutory regulations including implementation and adherence to the Association's policies and procedures.
- The ability to lead and motivate a staff team whilst encouraging personal development.
- Experience of managing similar services supporting those suffering from severe and enduring mental health.
- The ability to balance priorities effectively, work to strict deadlines with mínimal supervision and take initiative.
- The ability to develop positive working relationships with other agencies and promote the project in the wider community.
- The ability to exercise authority in an appropriate way, be confident and lead assertively.
- Knowledge of staff supervision and staff appraisal systems.
- Knowledge of the recovery model in mental health.
- Experience of managing a budget.
- Experience of monitoring and ensuring effective health and safety
- Due to the nature of the role, a willingness to work outside normal office hours (including evenings and weekends) and across multiple locations is essential. An on-call system is in place once every 6 weeks.
