**What you will do**:
You will be responsible for providing senior, clinical leadership for non-medical endoscopists (NME) practising at InHealth. The role will involve the performance management of NME, annual appraisal, engaging in management meetings, and attending the monthly service clinical governance meetings.

You will be expected to continue to perform endoscopy procedures for NHS patients. Including: independent endoscopy procedures: colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy for both NHS and private patients. You will be expected to diagnose and advise appropriate ongoing care to the referrer and to contribute to training requirements within the Endoscopy Departments.

The job contract will be based on defined hours per week allocated to the role; the allocation of hours will be agreed with the Medical Director and Director of the Service on appointment.

**What you are responsible for**:

- Providing leadership to NMEs
- Chairing and leading the quarterly NME clinical meeting.
- Overseeing the performance of all NMEs practicing at InHealth
- Reviewing the BSG endoscopy KPIs for the unit and endoscopists at least 6 monthly and act upon any performance issues in line with the InHealth underperformance policy.
- Support the development of clinical policies and protocols within the service
- Support Oversee the management of complaints and investigations of incidents
- Participate in an agreed programme of audits as determined by the Company
- Undertake appraisal for NMEs.
- Working within national and local practice guidelines including those outlined by appropriate regulatory bodies. Work within the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct OR the Health Professions Council (HPC) Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics, whichever is appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate and legible records of patient care in line with InHealth policies and NMC Code of Conduct
- Adhering to the NMC (or equivalent) Code of Conduct and InHealth Policies pertaining to patient confidentiality/Data Protection Act/Caldecott Recommendations
- Facilitate in-house educational meetings for InHealth clinicians and nursing teams.
- Perform endoscopic procedures: diagnostic trans nasal and oral gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy, therapeutic colonoscopy procedures e.g. polypectomy in line with safe practice in a community setting in accordance with InHealth policy, surveillance gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
- Generate patient treatment options according to the diagnosis, and ensure ongoing treatment is initiated.
- Achieve the JAG minimum requirement standards for Endoscopists prior to service commencement and maintain this standard throughout the period of the Contract.
- Support the triage team and undertake clinical triage of endoscopy referrals as required.

**We are looking for someone who has**:

- Nurse registration or is an Allied Health Professional.
- JAG accreditation Endoscopist in Gastroscopy / Flexible Sigmoidoscopy/ Colonoscopy
- The skills to carry out pre, peri and post-operative care
- Great organisational skills to successfully organise and arrange work for yourself and others in your tea
