To be responsible for the professional leadership of the team within the Emergency Department demonstrating a supportive and flexible leadership approach and a proactive, responsible attitude so as to promote confidence in the team and the service.

To explore current practice, identifying areas for development, and planning the appropriate change using research and experience to evaluate the outcomes.

To provide expert emergency knowledge and leadership in the continuing and progressive development of the emergency service and make the patient experience at the heart of all actions.

To drive quality and ensure the highest possible clinical standards are maintained.

Work closely with Sisters, Matrons Associate Director of Nursing and Professional Practice to implement new quality and patient experience initiatives.

To co-ordinate practice for multiple clinical areas and work clinically within the department supporting the Team leaders other staff.

To ensure a high standard of valued added financially effective care delivery across defined clinical areas.

To maintain the focus of joined up working across Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) Integrated Care Organisation, be a role model and lead for TSDFT and also within the wider Trust.

To be part of the senior nursing structure within the emergency department and contribute to the overall, upholding of emergency care performance targets and national emergency nursing standards.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and compassionate leader to take the role as a Matron for our Emergency Department.

We are looking for a dedicated, passionate senior nurse who will be an inspiring role model to our ED team. You will help lead our journey to be a fantastic ED, for our patients and staff. We would love to hear from applicants who have a track record of transformational leadership and change management. You will lead the ED nursing agenda and empower our staff to implement the highest standard of Emergency Nursing care in this exciting role. You will provide visible and compassionate leadership to patients and staff, leading projects which will enhance quality and patient experience.

The Matron will provide professional support and leadership to the wider team of band 7 nurses and AHP's to further support our department.

If you are a dedicated, passionate senior nurse who will be an inspiring role model to our ED team. You will help lead our journey to be an ‘outstanding’ ED service, that meets the needs of our patients and staff. You will be empowering, compassionate and innovative. You will lead the ED nursing agenda and empower our staff to implement the highest standard of Emergency Nursing care.
