Portland School is a specialist provision for children and young people who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Our school caters for pupils aged 5 to 16 across two sites, the primary provision is based in Trent Vale and secondary provision in Blythe Bridge.

Our governors are seeking to employ an individual who can use their initiative to take pride and care of our amazing school and grounds, keeping the building and grounds safe for our children, staff and visitors.

**Job Purpose**
- To undertake general maintenance of the site.
- To ensure the security of the grounds and building, including locking and unlocking the site.
- To work together with our site team to develop the building and grounds.

**We are looking for someone who can**
- Maintain safety requirements around the building and grounds
- Be trusted and is flexible to be a key holder; opening and locking up
- Follow maintenance programmes
- Be hardworking and dedicated
- Notices if something needs fixing and fix it
- Be enthusiastic, resourceful and committed to ensuring the highest possible standards
- Contribute to the life of the school and its community
- Work effectively in partnership with all stakeholders
- Work cooperatively as part of a team
- Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
- Communicate effectively with a wide audience including teaching staff, students and parents, as well as the wider community.
- Display a flexible and practical approach, and a ‘can do’ attitude.
