Responsibilities and requirements:
Essential:

- Helping to serve our customers on the till during opening hours
- Maintaining the plants/stock area before openings hours and during the day when there are less/no customers to serve
- Irrigate plants using appropriate watering techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery premises
- Perform heavy lifting tasks to move plants, soil, and other materials around the nursery
- Assist with maintenance tasks
- Work in adverse weather conditions if required
- Ability to operate forklift or willingness to learn (training will be provided if required)
- Willingness to work weekends on a shift basis

Desired (or training will be provided if required):

- Utilise hand tools for planting, pruning, and maintaining plants

Knowledge/abilities:

- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects repeatedly throughout the day
- Proficiency in using various hand tools for gardening tasks
- Knowledge of irrigation methods and techniques
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to plant care
- Strong ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment operation and maintenance
- Relevant horticultural qualification/knowledge is a plus
