Fantastic opportunity for an **HR Manager** to join this long established, highly successful & growing **UK-wide Luxury Retail business**. Their Head Office is based in Croydon, although they do offer flexible working from home as well.
Whilst reporting into the MD & also Sales Director, this is a **standalone role**where you need to be able to work autonomously & be a self-starter.This is a role where you can really make a difference & impact the business. **HR Projects** will make up a large part of the role.
A background in, employment law, employee relations & performance reviews are key to the HR Projects you will undertake.
**Role**:
To deliver an overall HR strategy that is aligned with the business needs and values by
development, implementation and monitoring of best practice policies/processes and
strategy in **performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations,**
**engagement and retention, wellbeing, succession planning, compliance, and HR**
**information systems.**
**Duties**:
- Reviewing, updating and monitoring all HR policies and company’s handbook and
ensuring these are in line with the current employment law, company’s values, and
brand.
- Managing employee relations across a broad range of topics including absence
management, disciplinary and grievances, performance management, retirement,
redundancies, parental leave and flexible working requests.
- Development and implementation of an effective review process including
appraisals and performance management.
- Review all HR documents to ensure they meet legal compliance and are in line with
the company’s brand and values.
- Conducting risk assessments.
- Conducting exit interviews.
- Supporting and coaching managers through HR processes.
- Preparing employment documentation and co-ordinating with managers and the
Learning and Development department on the induction process for new starters,
undertaking the necessary background checks and ensuring probationary periods
are reviewed with the necessary actions and documentation.
- Develop on-boarding processes, documents and reviews with all managers to
improve the experience for new employees, while maximising the rate of return on
investment for the business and improving staff retention.
- Drive employee engagement activity including, but not limited to, ensuring the
company’s employee engagement platform is being used to best effect.
- Aggregating, analysing and reporting on key employee engagement data.
- Active in all HR activities to support and drive the people strategy through the
business.
- Translate key data into an effective & commercially focused HR and people
strategy, working with senior mgt, influencing them on the best course of action.
- Provide company wide information by interpreting people data and analysing figures
on staff turnover, engagement, staff costings, workforce planning, etc.
- Ensure legal compliance is met in all HR activities.
- Lead on the management and review of supplier relationships and services namely
within wellbeing, engagement, HR absence system, and HRIS.
- Promote, leverage and report against the ongoing adoption of the company’s
Mission Statement & Company Values.
- Identify and make recommendations for any areas where changes to HR policies
and procedures will improve staff retention.
**Person**:
- Previous HR management experience in a similar role is essential; CIPD qualification is highly desirable, preferably level 7.
- Experience planning and delivering HR projects and change programmes.
- Solid understanding of employment law.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate in producing information; analytical and able to collect and interpret relevant data.
- Ability to be strategic and tactical when making decisions.
- Articulate and confident with an assertive manner and ability to influence others.
- Computer literate with solid HRIS systems knowledge, namely Sage.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Flexible approach to changing environments/situations and highly adaptable.
Whilst they offer flexible/hybrid working, you would need to be committed to working at least 3 days at the Head Office or showrooms. You will also need to be flexible to travel to their retail showrooms across the UK when required.
