**Support Workers** **Full Time and Part Time Contracted Positions - Ref: SOLOTAY**

**London, SW12**
- **Do you want to make a real difference in a young person’s life? Do you live less than 30 minutes by public transport from SW12?**_

If so, please send both:
Alex is very active and quick and enjoys competitive sports, so you will have a very high level of fitness, and be a quick mover and able to think on your feet. You will need to be able to walk briskly up to 10-12km every day and be gardening outside. The role is best suited to male support workers, although we welcome inquiries from anyone mindful of the challenges when working with a young man with an autism diagnosis. You will be creative in coming up with new activities and things to do with Alex and his peers.

Alex enjoys an active lifestyle, alongside long brisk walks, he loves playing football, table tennis, wall climbing, DJing, yoga, swimming and meeting up with people and friends to enjoy shared interests such as music, football, cricket, hockey and street dance. Alex lives in his own home and loves to be independent and to keep in close contact with his family. Alex has a little dog that he re-homed from a rescue centre, who is a valuable member of the team, too. We are looking for people who are energetic, positive, have a bubbly personality and a genuine interest in making a positive contribution towards Alex’s life. We are happy to consider applicants who do not have health and social care experience, but are committed and willing to engage in this opportunity. You must be a non-smoker, like dogs and have fluent written and spoken English.

Your role will involve supporting Alex to make the most out of each day, engaging in activities that he enjoys and living his life to the fullest. You will receive an excellent training package and induction to ensure you are trained to support him with his additional needs and any behaviours that may challenge, as well as weekly training and involvement from a specialist Clinical Psychologist. There is on call support during working hours and access to counselling through our HR provider. In addition, we offer access to further training for continuous professional development. Working as part of the Solo Support Services organisation will also mean that you are part of a supportive company who promote person-centred practice.

This is a great opportunity for the right person to join Alex’s team of energetic, enthusiastic & creative companions. Members of the team highly recommend this role, saying, “this is a chance to be a part of an exceptional and extremely bespoke care working environment, with a Team Leader and strong family involvement, where an attitude of constant communication and support is practiced, and also reflected in our training and outcomes.” Some of the team have worked with Alex for over 4 years and we are fortunate to have a really consistent, committed team who are a bit like extended family.

You will be a highly valued member of this team and greatly appreciated for the unique contributions you will make to Alex’s life. As such, we look for people to join the team who will be committed to staying involved in his life for a long time (with at least a year’s commitment.)

**A variety of hours are available, depending on your availability, to be discussed at the interview stage, but can include working across a 7 days week planned rota.**
