**The Team**

KPMG's Infrastructure and Government Strategic Advisory Services (SAS) team needs talented individuals who have a passion for built infrastructure. Our team supports government and infrastructure clients with their most complex strategic challenges.

We get involved in many fascinating projects. We develop strategies for the implementation of government policy, designing operating models to underpin delivery of public services. We also advise on project delivery models and commercial strategies that enable clients to achieve their strategic objectives.

The advice we provide can be categorised as:

- Policy and business strategy
- Operating model design and transformation
- Procurement and commercial strategy
- Digital and data strategy to inform onward business planning and delivery models

This is an exciting time to join the team. Our work is varied, often high-profile and rewarding. We are working on some fascinating public issues including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) implications for the public sector and its partners, the future structure of the rail sector, the implications from the rise of electric and autonomous vehicles and how to deliver some of the largest and most complex infrastructure programmes in the UK.

**The Role**

We are looking for an Associate Director to lead development of our Digital and data strategy proposition. This will include developing strategy for data collection and analysis to support business planning and development of infrastructure delivery models. Knowledge and experience of regulatory business planning process in sectors such as water, power, rail, and highways is essential. Alongside technical development, we are looking for someone who can lead major engagements with infrastructure clients as well as developing and managing revenue.

**You will lead our client engagements**
- Lead the design and delivery of engagements (including issue identification, approach to problem-solving and complex storyboarding)
- Be responsible for day-to-day management of a number of (potentially concurrent) engagements and leading teams
- Be comfortable handling ambiguity and changing client demands
- Complete and take responsibility for KPMG's 'Engagement Management' procedures (for example, managing scope within budget and timetable)

**You will build our business and propositions**
- Build deep client relationships and be seen as the 'go to' person and a trusted adviser by our clients
- Proactively spot and manage sell-on and cross-sell opportunities
- Support the identification, pursuit and conversion of new business development opportunities which align with the team business plan
- Proactively develop thought leadership and contribute to practice development initiatives.

**The Person**

Applicants will need the following skills and experience:

- Significant relevant work experience, including experience in consulting such as big 4 or big 3, engineering consultancy, or client-side
- Comfortable handling ambiguity and changing client demands
- Evidence of strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Strong network within infrastructure or government sectors and the ability to spot and seize business opportunities
- First-hand experience and credibility advising senior / Exec-level stakeholders
- The ability to understand policy or strategic direction for an infrastructure client and translate into complex operating model design and implementation
- Sound practical knowledge of issues facing infrastructure programmes / clients, latest industry policy and good practice
- Leading and developing high performing and inclusive teams
- Strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen
- Excellent English language written and oral communication skills
- Excellent in-depth knowledge of construction/infrastructure cost and carbon data capture and analysis to tackle bespoke client needs
- Knowledge and experience of coding including VB & PHP
- Knowledge and experience of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)
- Building cost and carbon analysis tools
- Extensive knowledge and experience of construction and infrastructure sectors including monitoring and delivery of infrastructure projects
- Data analysis to support project controls
- Efficiency measurement and management
- Benchmarking - including detailed benchmarking to drive strategic change
- Cost optimisation
- Developing of new value propositions
