To maintain and manage finance systems enabling continuous improvement and
change focusing on systems administration, configuration, and user experience.

To manage, maintain and develop Finance systems, processes and reporting
capabilities and to be responsible for the improvement and operation of financial
systems.

To work closely with team members to manage, develop and improve finance
processes and procedures.

**Key Responsibilities**
**and Accountabilities**:

- To lead partnerships with business and technology partners to understand

business requirements and system capabilities
- Manage, develop, maintain and document standard operating procedures and

processes and to own a finance process library
- To manage all aspects of finance system and configuration including

maintenance, specification, development, testing and implementation as
required.
- To lead finance systems support and change work with internal and external

support teams.
- Manage and deliver process mapping activities for finance systems including

leading workshops, training and working groups.
- To lead on the development and revision of Finance working procedures as

directed by the Finance management team.
- Manage Finance systems configuration and implementation of changes to

systems and processes.
- Provide general systems support including resolution of system incidents and

problems and delivery of changes.
- Lead and be responsible for the delivery of finance systems and process

improvement opportunities
- Develop finance system reporting capabilities and reports.
- Build effective professional relationships with University managers and

representatives, including key internal clients in nominated Faculties and
Services.
- To contribute to the delivery of key Finance objectives, projects, policies and

procedures in line with the Finance and Planning service plan and University
Strategy.

Qualifications and Professional Memberships:

- Substantial experience in support and improvement of finance systems

and processes
- and/or relevant professional qualifications
- and/or membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. APM, BCS)

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Demonstrable experience of successful management of projects or

continuous improvement and the delivery of key objectives within agreed
targets.
- Proven record of developing processes and procedures to strengthen the

performance of teaM/Function.
- Demonstrable track record of building productive relationships with both

internal and external stakeholders.
- Innovative approach to working and ability to work using own initiative.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to deal with difficult situations
- to achieve a successful outcome..- Proven experience of the delivery of several areas of work or projects

concurrently, including the ability to work under pressure and to
deadlines, determining priorities and managing conflicting demands.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex situations,

processes and systems into understandable steps
- Ability to engage with individuals from within and external to the service

and ‘bring them on-board’ with whatever activity is being delivered.
- Experience of working with staff from across the business and at all levels.
- Demonstrable ability express complex concepts in an understandable

manner to a range of audiences
