Job title: Finance Officer
Reporting to: Managing Director
Hours: Part-Time, 30 a week (4 x 7.5 hour working day equivalent)
**Salary**: £23,000 - £25,000
Location: Rochdale, onsite
I am seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Officer to join the small hardworking team of a company based in Rochdale on a Part-time 12 Month FTC basis.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the companies SAGE accounts including the generation and posting of invoices for sales and purchases etc
- Complete the companies VAT and PAYE returns and make related payments
- Maintain staff salary annual spreadsheets including national insurance, salary sacrifice, PAYE and pensions contributions
- Ensure adequate insurance cover for building, contents, van, tours, and business interruption annually
- Liaise with the companies pension provider and manage related contributions payments
- Maintain the companies bank accounts, including the completion of monthly bank reconciliations and management of the Company's cashflow/liquidity and cash assets (including the petty cash)
- Maintain individual project accounts to ensure that all grant funded schemes are appropriately monitored & reported
- Produce internal and external financial reports and management accounts incl. cash flow and forecasts to the companies Finance Committee and Board of Trustees/funders including Arts Council England in line with schedules
- Lead in the production of the Company's final accounts and the statutory audit process annually
- Maintain the companies Fixed Asset Register
- Ensure the companies banking providers comply with Ethical Banking and FSA Guidelines
- Undertake other such duties consistent with the level of the post that may, from time to time, be required
**Requirements**:
- Knowledge of or willing to learn the requirements of Charity SORP and SOFA
- Considerable experience using SAGE accounting
- Experience of preparing budgets and financial reports
- Working knowledge of VAT and PAYE
- Demonstrable experience of performing a range of finance functions
- Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and working practices
- Membership of AAT or equivalent accountancy qualification or actively working towards this
- Experience in using MS Office
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work equally effectively as part of a small team and autonomously
- Ability to use own initiative and be proactive in suggesting improvements to systems and procedures
