Camberley, United Kingdom Aerobility Full time

**Charity Overview**

Aerobility is a leading disability charity, based at Blackbushe Airport near Camberley on the Hampshire Surrey border. Aerobility uses the challenges of flight and exposure to aviation as a tool for improving the lives of those with a disability. Whatever the age or whatever the disability, be it physical, learning, mental, or an injury acquired in conflict - Aerobility gives everyone the chance to participate in aviation orientated activities. Aerobility operates adapted aircraft, supporting equipment and specialist instruction to ensure access for all. The charity also acts as a representative body for disabled aviators working with regulators and the aerospace industry to promote access and awareness.

Aerobility believes that everyone should have the right and opportunity to participate in aviation and work hard to remove the barriers that make aviation physically and financially inaccessible for people with disabilities. With a diverse range of services, including flight training and ground-based education programmes, the organisation provides opportunities for over 600 people with disabilities every year.

The organisation has a small team of staff operating from the main headquarters at Blackbushe and relies on input from volunteers to deliver services and achieve charitable objectives. With out-reach service delivery operations from Tatenhill in the Midlands, Lydd in Kent as well as a number of other nominated airfields across the UK on temporary detachment, Aerobility is currently expanding its nationwide catchment and increasing its presence through new initiatives.

Join us in making a meaningful impact on our community and contribute to Aerobility's mission. Together, we can create positive change and build a better future for everyone living with disability.

**Virtual Aviation Experience (VAE) overview**

As we continue to develop our flight operations and improve access to them, we are also embracing the opportunities offered to us by technology, to reach even more people, wherever they are. Central to this is Virtual Aerobility (VA), our initial accessibility focused response to the pandemic which has grown into its own high quality product offering. It is how we answered the question ‘how do we support a disabled flying community when aircraft are grounded, and classrooms are shut?’ The answer not only shone a light on how we can continue to support the disabled flying community, even during major disruption, it also showed us how to improve and move our Services forward on a permanent basis. VA comprises four work streams: Virtual Ground School, Inspire-Ability, Remote Access Flight Simulation/VAE and Armchair Airshow. These Services, uniquely deliver remote access to aviation-based information, education and inspiration, they bring flight instruction to living-rooms, inspiration into people’s homes and have created a brand-new format Airshow which is delivered to screens everywhere and embedded in the UK’s Airshow calendar. Most importantly, they ensure that even through the darkest of times, we can continue to use aviation to support our community and to change lives.
