We strive to reduce our environmental impact by developing innovative and efficient products and services, as well as listening to the great ideas and recommendations from our people.- This role will shape our future Sustainability strategy, develop and deliver the plan and embed effective ways-of-working across the lifecycle of our projects and product management.Our sustainability plan has been developed to-date from our mature Materiality Analysis, and needs the Sustainability leader to work hand in hand with function to influence the following scope:
- Customer Chain: align with the sustainability strategies and contracting principles of our key Customers (including social value and prosperity ambitions, developing our customer partnerships)
- People: enthuse employees on sustainability matters to help drive ESG into a new business-as-usual: work closely with our Inclusion & Diversity team; coach and expand existing sustainability training
- Innovation & Technology; alignment with our digitalisation and technology route-maps to show the future proofing of our business; promoting “Design for Sustainability” with scope III emissions in focus.
- Environment: to drive our Science Based Target project and develop our carbon reduction plans. Understand our energy, emissions, waste/recycling, and water management. Develop the best use of systems data through our ESG platform
- Supply Chain: to integrate with our own objectives, adapt for our SMEs, and develop the scope III emissions strategy. Maintaining ethical and transparent contracting throughout the supply chain. Developing our supplier partnerships

- Develop our executive ESG Committee with effective narrative, targets, and KPIs
- Strengthen the in-house Sustainability team and harness the value that is added from our 3rd party ESG partners.
- Drive the sustainability strategy for the UK and align with the global organisation
- Play a pivotal role by identifying and managing projects that fulfil our sustainability strategy
- Identify key areas of activity to drive change that will reduce our environmental impact, deliver greater social value, develop customer relationships, and positively influence the supply chain.

Key Responsibility Areas- Leadership of the overall Leonardo sustainability plan, developed in conjunction with our international colleagues and influenced by key external stakeholders (including investors and customers)
- Raising the profile of the sustainability resources to improve our business's competitiveness and our people's competencies to recognise the added value that sustainability brings to the company whilst managing the risks and opportunities that this will bring.
- Working closely with all functions to ensure key sustainability activities are integrated into their ways-of-working and the end result can be communicated as One Leonardo plan.
- Keep the finger on the pulse of emerging ESG trends and future legislation to ensure the right courses of action are researched and tailored for best fit into Leonardo to achieve long-term value, whilst managing any short term risks.

- Ability to translate a growing sustainability agenda into a strategic vision relevant to Leonardo UK, and to drive the implementation through integrated planning and the right suite of ESG KPIs
- Expert project and stakeholder management skills, keeping multiple work streams moving forward at the same time
- Confidence to bring best-in-class practices, and the narrative, to senior leadership
- Expertise and experience working on Sustainability frameworks, as well as ESG and environmental impact projects - SBTi and carbon reduction plans
