We are looking for a capable and practical person to join our friendly team of staff working in our care home for elderly people in Teignmouth. Your role would be to carry out routine maintenance and handyman jobs around the home and garden. Jobs are varied and could be anything from changing a light bulb to painting a wall or clearing a gutter, hanging a door to carrying out simple safety audits and fire alarm checks (instruction/training will be given for specific tasks).

Qualifications are not necessary but a good level of competence, common sense and initiative are expected in day to day routine maintenance tasks, and as you will be working within our residents' home we are looking for someone who will be friendly and respectful towards our residents and their families.

Hours can be flexible but within the range of 20-25 per week and ideally worked over at least 4 days per week.

You will not be expected to carry out jobs involving electrical or gas works as these are outsourced to certified contractors.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £10.60 per hour
