Patient Safety Partner

The role of a Patient Safety Partner is to enable the ICB to value, listen to and provide meaningful involvement opportunities for patients, their carers and families in the ongoing patient safety work of the organisation and across Northamptonshire. The PSP will support a culture which is patient centred. A patient safety partner (PSP) will be actively involved in the design of safer healthcare at all levels within the organisation.The partners will use their lived health experience and knowledge to: Form part of safety governance committees within the ICB- ensuring thatthese committees consider and prioritise the patient, carer and familyperspective, and that they champion a diverse viewSupport compliance monitoring and how safety issues should be addressed. Provide an appropriate challenge from a patient perspectiveSupporting the development and implementation of strategies and policiesSupport implementation and evaluation of learning strategiesAttend support meetings and training eventsProvide mentorship to new PSPs when requiredSupport clinical audits relation to patient safety when requiredAdhere to the principles of the PSP agreement
